With heavy hearts, we mourn the passing of Anna Marie (Nancy) Dougherty, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Anna was born on February 15, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA to the late John W. and Sarah (nee McNally) Sibel, and passed away peacefully on November 6, 2024, at her home in Croydon, PA, surrounded by her loving family.
Nancy was a dedicated homemaker who found joy in caring for her family and friends and creating a warm and welcoming home for all who entered. She will be remembered as “Nancy Nurse”, Queen of the Red Hats and the unofficial Mayor of Croydon. Nancy’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her, and her legacy of love and warmth will forever be cherished.
Nancy will be lovingly remembered by her son Jeffrey Dougherty (Jennifer), daughter Diane Dougherty, and grandchildren Jeffrey, Kellyn, and Evan along with many nieces, nephews and friends. Anna Marie was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Dougherty, and her siblings, Madeline Burcaw, John Sibel and James Sibel.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 10:00 – 11:00 am at St. Thomas Aquinas Church followed by mass at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery 5201 Hulmeville Rd, Bensalem, PA 19020.
