It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Betty-Lee Gaittins, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished member of her community, who left us peacefully on December 29, 2024, at the age of 79. Born on January 9, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, Betty lived a life filled with love, compassion, and dedication to her family and those she served.
Betty was a proud cosmetologist who ran her own business, bringing beauty and confidence to countless clients throughout her career. Her artistry extended beyond the salon; she was a longtime substitute teacher at the Bucks County Technical High School for cosmetology, where she inspired students to follow their dreams in the beauty industry.
A devoted member of the Newportville Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years, Betty's commitment to her community was unwavering. She took great joy in attending sporting events, concerts, orchestra performances, and Broadway shows, always seeking to enrich her life and the lives of those around her with cultural experiences. A true scholar of life, she embraced each moment with warmth and enthusiasm.
Betty is survived by her loving daughter, Gywenn Gaittins (Trudy Zuest), her son Edward Gaittins (Christine), and her cherished grandchildren, John and Violet Gaittins. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Edward in 2011, as well as all of her parents, William and Eugene Camac, and John and Violet Christaldi. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Services and interment will be private. Betty Gaittins will forever remain in our hearts, a beacon of love and strength to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire us all.
