It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Bruce Edward Kniffin, who departed this life peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 74. Born on August 11, 1950, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Dallas Kniffin and Mecislava Yerkov, Bruce was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend.
Bruce was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He dedicated his career to the manufacturing industry, proudly serving as a millwright at US Steel for over 20 years, where his craftsmanship and dedication earned him the respect of his colleagues. His commitment to service was evident not only in his military service but also in his role as President of the St. Vincent De Paul Society at Our Lady of Fatima, where he touched countless lives with his compassion and generosity.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Patricia Kniffin, and his cherished children: Christine Kelley (the late Sean), Colleen Buchinsky (Brian), Carolyn Zeisler (Jason), and Steve Kniffin (Kaitie). He is also survived by his brother, John Yerkov, and his grandchildren, Kiley, Caitlyn, Isabella, Devon, Ava, Lyla, Leo, Cameron, Leighton, and Lucy. Bruce’s love for his family knew no bounds, and he leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and unwavering support. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Dallas Edward Kniffin, David Kniffin, and Lisa Yerkov.
In honoring Bruce's life, we invite family and friends to join us for a Mass at St. Ephrem Church, which will take place on January 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a public viewing at the church beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
As we come together to celebrate Bruce's remarkable life, we ask all who knew him to share their stories, laughter, and love, just as he shared his with us all. He will be profoundly missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
