It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles S. Takita “Charlie” on Thursday, April 18, 2024. He was 87 years old.
Born in Kahului, HI to the late Kimiko (Kitagawa) and Riuichi Takita. Charlie brought his passion and dedication to everything he did, whether it was tending to his garden, engaging in a game of cribbage, or spending quality time with his family. His humble and kind nature, coupled with his strength and dedication, touched the lives of all who knew him.
A true patriot, Charlie dedicated 19 years of his life to the US Army, achieving the rank of Major and serving with honor during the Vietnam War. Following his military service, he pursued a career in engineering, working diligently for 28 years at the Susquehanna River Basin Commission.
Charlie was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, A. Jeannette (Leahan) Takita. He will be deeply missed by his eight loving children: Kim Takita (Paul), Charles Takita (Maggie), Kent Takita, Pamela McGlew (Kevin), Matthew Takita (Kelly), Monique Szczyrbak (Greg), Valerie Takita (Jen) and Kevin Takita. Charlie is also survived by his siblings, Elsie Nagoshi and Larry Takita; his niece: Cori Leonard. Charlie was the loving Granddaddy to 22 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren with one more on the way. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Catherine Ferguson.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 9:30 to 11 AM at Assumption BVM Church, 1900 Meadowbrook Rd, Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Rite of Committal Beechwood Cemetery.
