Christina G. Contino

July 13, 1950 — January 13, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Christina G. (Iacona) Contino on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the age of 73. She was born in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Carmela (Risoli) and Charles Iacona and was a resident of Bensalem for the past 36 years.

Christina's true passion in life was being surrounded by her loved ones. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 51 years, Louis A. Contino. Christina is also survived by her children, Jeffrey Contino (Colleen) and Christa Castoldi (Carl), and her five precious grandchildren, Luke, Jenna and Alicia Contino, and Liliana and Giancarlo Castoldi; her siblings: Frank Iacona, Rose Kane (late Vince Kane), Augustine Iacona (Joanne) and Elisa Turdo, brother-in-law John Contino (late Cindy), late Blase and Rosemary Contino and many nieces and nephews. Summers included quality time with her family at the Jersey Shore, creating beautiful memories that will forever be cherished. Whether it was playing board games, watching Phillies and Eagles games, sharing laughter, or simply enjoying each other's company, Christina's love and devotion radiated in those precious moments.

Christina was a proud alumni of St. Maria Goretti High School in South Philadelphia, Class of 1968. She continued her education at Immaculate College for education, while teaching at St. Monica in South Philadelphia. Christina was always actively involved in St. Katherine of Siena’s Parent Teacher Association. After having children, Christina returned to teaching at St. Katherine of Siena Parish, where she became a beloved faculty member, and impacted many childrens’ lives. She finished her bachelor’s degree at Holy Family University and dedicated over 30 years of her life to teaching.

Outside of her profession, Christina had a zest for life. She enjoyed bowling, was an active member of her Senior Club, and was always up for a good book discussion with her Book Club. She actively participated in various community organizations such as Torresdale Boys Club, Torresdale Swim Club, and Ryan Ragdolls Cheerleading Association.
