Claudia E. Rosen

November 23, 1945 — December 8, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudia E. Rosen (Mountjoy, later changed to Buckson), who left this world peacefully on Monday December 8, 2025, after just turning 80. Born on November 23, 1945, in Harrisburg, PA, to the late Eleanor Goodman (née Smith) and George Mountjoy, she spent her early years in Plymouth, PA and was a resident of Bensalem for 55 years.

Claudia was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 24 years, Robert D. Rosen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Joyce Mountjoy Roller. She will be deeply missed by her loving daughter Abbi Rosen (Jeff Barber) and many other cherished family members.

Claudia dedicated her life to caring for her family in the warmth of her home in Bensalem, PA. Her life was faced with many challenges starting from the time she was born. Her childhood, though filled with love, was not easy—one full of surgeries, and some of those left her with issues that would limit her mobility later. Despite her being a person with a physical disability that made walking more difficult, she met her husband Robert at 16 years old at Widener Memorial High School, a high school for students with similar disabilities, and that was where her beautiful story really began. After being together for about 8 years, she married in 1970 and was able to have a fulfilled life with her home, husband, and daughter—which is all she wanted, considering it would be difficult, but she was still able to have what mattered most to her. Claudia stood by Robert’s side for the 24 years he was a kidney dialysis patient and went through many ups and downs watching his own health struggles and journey with his fight for the rights of all dialysis patients, which became his mission. She assisted him in making patterns for and selling stained glass sun catchers on the side as a hobby for them both, and accompanied him for interviews as he toured local TV shows in his plight for patients’ rights. Unwavering, she continued to be strong for her daughter when he passed away in 1994, even when she lost her mother just 5 short months later. Her strength only continued through her life as her mobility became less and less. She remained resolutely independent until the last 5 years of her life, which rendered her completely chair-bound in a recliner, in her home. Claudia had always enjoyed family holidays, game nights, girls dinners with her sister, sisters-in-law, and her daughter. In her final years, though unable to walk, she was healthy and happy with Abbi taking care of her and spending time with her. Her passing was not sudden, but after battling complications from an infection in the hospital for 3 weeks, her lungs ultimately would not get better and she made the choice herself to pass in comfort and peace under hospice care in the hospital. Her one-of-a-kind body had endured too much pain in her bones, and her physical limitations made it impossible for a different alternative. She went in peace on her terms, with Abbi and Jeff by her side.

Claudia was a devoted wife and mother, as well as a loving sister, sister-in-law, aunt and great aunt to both her sister’s family and her husband’s siblings’ families.

Claudia was the epitome of strength and inspiration; considering this, may she continue to provide that strength to the loved ones she left behind.
