Dorothy Hatgimisios

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Hatgimisios on June 24, 2024, at the age of 96. Born in Philadelphia, PA on October 2, 1927, Dorothy was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

Dorothy devoted her life to her family, finding fulfillment as a dedicated home maker. Her caring nature extended beyond her own home as she volunteered at the Frankford Hospital, providing comfort and support to those in need. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, savoring her Red Bull, and upholding cherished traditions such as giving out $2 bills on Chinese New Year.

She leaves behind her loving daughter, Capri Colletti, son-in-law John Colletti, daughter China D'Andrea, son-in-law Louis D'Andrea, daughter Paris D'Emilio, son-in-law Thomas D'Emilio, grandchildren, Louis III (Heather), Dante, Gia (Rich), Dana (Dave), Thomas III, Raymond (Kristina), Richie, Frankie, and Michael, and brother Robert Anerino. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family and all those who knew her.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Hatgimisios, her son, Theodore Hatgimisios, grandson Teddy Jr., parents, Charles and Mildred Anerino, siblings, Peter Anerino, Carol Cucuzza, and Janet Gerchak as well as her former husband Salvatore “Sam” Cucuzza.

A celebration of her life and legacy will follow at a later date to commemorate the compassionate soul that Dorothy was and the impact she had on all she encountered.

Though Dorothy may no longer be with us in body, her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. May her kindness and generosity serve as a guiding light for us all as we navigate the days ahead without her physical presence.
