With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Kochis, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend, who left us peacefully on January 14, 2026, at the age of 97. Born on January 6, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late John and Julia Haber, Dorothy lived a life filled with love, faith, and dedication. She spent many fulfilling years as a clerk for the Bucks County Recorder of Deeds, where her meticulous nature and warm spirit made a lasting impression on her colleagues and the community.
Dorothy was deeply involved in her faith, serving as a member of the Legion of Mary and participating in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Seniors. She was a former parishioner of Our Lady of Fatima Church, where she nurtured many friendships and touched the lives of those around her with her kindness and generosity.
Dorothy is survived by her beloved spouse of 32 years, Leonard Kochis, her son, Michael Clark (Donna), and her step children, Diane Smith (Michael), Nancy Duda (Edward), Michael Kochis (Susan), and Joanne Dettore (the late Richard), and her step daughter in law, Jackie Kochis. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher Clark, Allison Chiaravalotti (Anthony), and Matthew Clark, and her step grandchildren, Leanna Dobson (Sean), Jessica Smith, Andrew Smith, Matthew Kochis (Sarah), Edward Duda, Christopher Kochis, Jillian Fornan (Connor), Brittany Fowlor (Alex), Stephen Kochis (Lauren), Danny Dettore, Nicole Dettore, Nicholas Kochis (Lori), Katie Kochis, Michael Wertz, and Joseph Wertz, as well as her 7 great grandchildren and her sister in law, Irene Haber. Each of them holds precious memories of her warmth and love. Dorothy was preceded in death by her siblings, Helen Sampagno (the late John), Catherine Gallagher (the late John), and John Haber, her step children, Stephen Kochis and Susan Wertz.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Dorothy’s viewing at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Tuesday, January 20th from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by her mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
In this time of grief, we express our deepest sympathy and invite all who knew and loved Dorothy to join us in celebrating a life well lived. She will be profoundly missed but fondly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
