Douglas W Rule, Jr.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Douglas W. Rule Jr., who left us peacefully on October 9, 2025, at the age of 60. Born on March 16, 1965, to the late Douglas W Rule and Gertrude (nee Gray) Barats, in Philadelphia, PA, Doug was a beloved son, brother, uncle, great uncle, and friend, whose joyful spirit touched the lives of many.

Doug spent his career as a dedicated vending machine mechanic at Davar, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to maintaining the equipment that brought comfort and convenience to others.

Outside of work, Doug was passionate about his hobbies. He found joy in watching NASCAR and football, often sharing his love for the thrill of the race and the excitement of the game with family and friends. Fishing was another beloved pastime, providing him solace and tranquility in nature.

Doug is survived by his sister, Mary Stubbs (Ed), his brother, Todd Barats (Donna), his sister, Beth Barats (Marc), as well as his cherished nephews and nieces: Todd Barats Jr. (Jen), Lea Yanome (Miako), Jesse Barats (Sara), Vivi Barats, Jayson Stubbs, Benjamin Mostowtt, and Vivien Mostowtt, and his great nieces and nephews, Aidan Bullard, Anthony Bryant, Diego Yanome, Emelia Yanome, Harper Barats, Jordan Barats, and Grayson Barats. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Doug’s visitation at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 6:00-7:00 PM followed by his memorial service at 7:00 PM. Interment will be private.

In this time of mourning, we celebrate Doug's life and the cherished memories we hold dear. He will forever remain in our hearts.
