Edward Atkinson

Edward “Ed” R. Atkinson, Sr. of Philadelphia and formerly of Bensalem died on Monday evening, April 27, 2015, at Vitas Hospice at Nazareth after a lengthy illness. He was 82 years old. Ed was a self employed retired builder and master carpenter retiring after 40 years. He was a member of St. Katherine’s Senior Citizens; he loved the Phillies, playing pinochle and all types cars. Ed was the beloved husband for 61 years of Beverly Atkinson (nee) Dougherty; devoted father of Deborah Ann Kaplan (Benjamin), Edward R. Jr., John W. (Rosemary) and James W. Atkinson (Heather). Beloved grandfather of Starr and Zoe Atkinson and great-grandfather of Destiny; also survived by his sister,Dorothy Riccitelli and brother, Richard Marshall and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by other brothers and sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Thursday evening 7-9 P.M. and Friday 10-11 A. M.
