Eleanor Marie Squadroni

Eleanor “Miss Ellie” Squadroni, 84, passed away on August 1, 2026, after a brief illness. A longtime resident of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, she spent most of her life there before relocating to North Carolina in her later years.

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Eleanor spent most of her adult life in the city she called home. She worked for the City of Philadelphia in a variety of administrative roles throughout her career, forming friendships that lasted well beyond her working years. She was also a homemaker and devoted mother who took great pride in raising her family.

Eleanor was truly one of a kind. She was fun-loving, had a wonderful sense of style and presence, knew exactly what she liked, and never left you wondering what she thought. She was warm, kind, generous, and easy to talk to, with a way of making people feel welcome.

An avid reader, Eleanor loved a good book, good conversation, plenty of laughs, and time spent with family and friends. She also enjoyed the occasional Appletini, provided it was made just right. She had a way of making life interesting, sometimes unpredictable, and rarely dull.

Eleanor is survived by her children, Brian Thomas and his wife, Wendy; Kim Antonacci and her husband, Tony; and her grandchildren, Caitlyn and Brandon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe; her parents, Andy and Nora; and her brother, Andrew.

Eleanor leaves behind family, friends, and a lifetime of memories that could only belong to her. Those who knew her knew there was only one Eleanor, and that’s exactly how she will be remembered.

Family and friends are invited to gather to remember and honor Eleanor on Saturday, October 10, 2026. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pennsylvania, followed by an 11:00 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
