Elizabeth M. Spor

Elizabeth M. “Betty” (O’Connor) Spor of Croydon, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2021 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 71 years old. Born in Philadelphia, Betty was a resident of Croydon for the last 43 years. She worked alongside her family at the Spor Garden Center for over 20 years. Betty was an avid traveler, she along with her husband Rich traveled throughout the United States, visiting Mount Rushmore to Grand Cannons. Betty and Rich truly cherished their time and memory’s seeing the world together. She adored spending time with her family, especially with her grandchildren, who meant everything to her. She was always looking to help those in need, whether it was family, friends or a complete stranger, she had a true heart of gold. Betty will be sadly missed by her beloved husband of 52 years, Richard J. Spor. She is also survived by her 3 loving children: Richard D. Spor (Christine), Wendy Bickel (Joseph) and Alicia Gillespie (Michael Bonner); Her siblings: Walter O’Connor (Kathryn), Colleen Warr (Daniel) and Patricia Schwegler (Joseph); her grandchildren: Joseph (Kaitlyn), Gabrielle (Brad), Ryan, Ashley, Elizabeth, Richard, Madison, James, Rachael, Michael and Nathan Bonner and 3 great grandchildren: Joey, Asher and Brody. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph P. and Evelyn (Balliet) O’Connor and her sister, Maureen Carter. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation, Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021, followed by her Mass at 11 AM.
