Francis E. Clark “Fran” passed away Thursday March 16, 2017 with family at his side . He was 72. He was born in Bristol and lived his entire life in Croydon. Fran was a graduate of Delhaas Class of 1962. He was employed for 34 years in the Chemistry Lab at U.S. Steel Fairless Hills. He worked 14 years as a deputy constable and he later became a district justice serving the Bristol/Croydon area. Before Fran’s final retirement he was he was also employed at Parx Casino in the surveillance department. Throughout his life, he served his community as a Democrat Committee man for 30 years and also served as chairman of the Bristol Township Zoning Hearing Board and Bristol Township Authority and later was elected to the Bristol Township Council. Fran Coached C.Y.O Basketball at St. Thomas Aquinas and was instrumental in starting the C.Y.O. Soccer program there as well. He was a former vice president of the Croydon Fire Company No. 11 and a former member of the Bucks County St Patrick’s Day Parade Committee. He was a member of the St Thomas Aquinas Seniors. Fran was named Grand Marshall of the Croydon Memorial Parade in 2009. Above all his proudest moment of his civic achievement’s was being instrumental in the design , construction and financing of the Veterans Memorial at the Joseph A. Schumacher VFW Post 1597 in Croydon. Fran was the beloved husband of Linda (nee Day) Clark for 52 years. Father of Patrick (Jen), Kevin (Melissa)and Tim (Kim). Also, survived by his brother Joseph Clark and sister Evelyn Jones. He will be sadly missed by his 7 grandchildren Ashley, Hilary, Ryley, Benjamyn, Robert, Oliver, and Maggie, also many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Fran was preceded in death by his parents Joseph A. and Evelyn (nee Seip) Clark, and his sister in law Marge Clark. Relatives and friends may call Wednesday March 22, 2017 at the Tomlinson Funeral Home 2207 Bristol Pike Bensalem Pa 19020 from 6pm-7:30pm and on Thursday March 23, 2017 at St Thomas Aquinas Church 601 Bristol Pike Croydon Pa 19021 from 10 am to 11am. Mass at 11am. Interment St. Mark’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation may be made in Fran’s name to St Thomas Aquinas Church 601 Bristol Pike Croydon, Pa 19021 and Joseph A. Schumacher Post 1597 Memorial Fund 901 Bellevue Ave Croydon, PA 19021
