Frank Ewell

Frank L. Ewell, age 57, of Philadelphia, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2019. He was proud to graduate from Abraham Lincoln High School. Following high school, he attended Pennco Technical in Bristol, PA. He later graduated from Smith & Solomon Commercial Driver Training Program where he received his professional certification as a Commercial Driver Licensed (CDL) tractor trailer driver, and also received a Certificate of Acheivement from Covenant Transportation. This was a career that well suited him, since he loved to travel. More recently, he enjoyed working part-time as an Air Handler for UPS at their Hog Island location at the Philadelphia International Airport. Frank was a gifted cartoon artist who especially enjoyed using his talent to help students in elementary classrooms throughout the City of Philadelphia learn. He also loved helping children by participating in the Annual Red Nose Day Charity events to help stop childhood hunger and poverty. Frank had a variety of interests. Growing up he enjoyed BMX bike racing with his brother and attending his church’s summer camp program in the Poconos. Frank loved cats and dogs, in particular German Shepherds. All his furry friends will miss playing with him and giving him slobbery kisses, which he loved. He loved Looney Tunes, classic and hard rock music, and video games. He was an avid fan of both the Philadelphia Eagles and WWE (wrestling). He enjoyed cooking and loved baking cookies. During his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with his family, sharing in holiday meals, playing Yahtzee, UNO, Rummy, and Parcheesi. He is survived by his sister Judy Summers (Ed), brother William “Bill” Ewell and nephew Matthew Summers (Liz). Frank was preceded in death by his parents Francis Lester Edward and Marlene Marie (Baker) Ewell, as well as his siblings Rosemarie Ewell and Francis L. Ewell. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Memorial Gathering on Saturday, October 12, 2019, from 9 AM to 10 AM at Cornwells United Methodist Church, 2284 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his Memorial Service at 10 AM. Interment will take place immediately afterwards at Beechwood Cemetery.
