George Shields

George Joseph Shields, a beloved husband, father, and brother, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2024, at the age of 68. Born in Philadelphia, PA on February 22, 1955, George was a loving and devoted family man who cherished spending time with his loved ones.


George was a skilled Tool & Die Maker and worked for B-Tech Solutions. His dedication to his work was apparent to all who knew him. He was a hardworking individual who took pride in his craft.


Outside of work, George had a passion for fishing, particularly in Cape May, NJ. He also enjoyed making wine and had a special fondness for Gyotaku. These hobbies brought him immense joy and allowed him to relax and unwind.


He is survived by his loving spouse of 44 years, Marion Shields, his sons Jesse George Shields (Siobhan), Joseph Robert Shields (Kiersten), and Paul Michael Shields (Christiana), as well as his grandchildren, Damien, Haley, Ally, Makayla, Leon, and Maxwell. He is also survived by his brother Michael Shields (Elaine). His memory will forever be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.


The funeral services for George Joseph Shields will be held at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. A Mass in his honor will take place on February 28, 2024, at 11:00 AM, with a public visitation starting at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place at Our Lady of Grace Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in George's name to the American Cancer Society, https://www.cancer.org/.


George will be remembered for his kind and compassionate nature, his unwavering dedication to his family, and his passion for life. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him. May he rest in peace.
