James Paul Fleming, of Fairless Hills, passed away at his home on January 4th. He was 83 years old. Born in Bristol Pa he was raised in Croydon Pa. He graduated from Delhaas High School, class of 1957. James was a proud Veteran of the United States Army Reserves.
Jim was well known in the Bristol community as he was a co owner and service manager of George T Fleming & Sons AMC Jeep Dealership for over 50 years. It was here he developed a lot of life long friendships that have been cherished over the years.
Jim raised his family in the section of Glen Ashton Farms, Bensalem Pa and lived there for 25 years.
He was involved in the Rotary Club in Bristol, a member of Bristol Presbyterian Church on Radcliffe St, a member of the Arbeiters German Club in Trenton NJ, and he loved to play Pinochle with his friends at the Pinochle Club that meet in Fallsington every Tuesday.
He loved to travel, go camping in his motor home, he loved riding his boat on the Delaware River and Lake Wallenpaupack, he was an avid Eagles & Phillies fan and would often go over to Wall Stadium Speedway to watch the car races. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his many friends and family members.
James will be deeply missed by his children: Cynthia Florek (Michael) and Kimberly Opstad (Erik), his favorite grandchildren: Julie Florek and Henry Opstad, his loving companion of 30 years, Nora Cutlip, and her girls: Laurie Cutlip, Leigh DiRenzo, Lynnette Cutlip, and Kristen Raymond, as well as lots of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents George and Elizabeth Fleming and siblings: George, Daniel, and Richard Fleming.
Special thanks to all of the wonderful doctors and home nurses that have helped Jim over the years as well as his friends at Grundy Gardens who he has shared good times with.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his Viewing at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike,
Bensalem Pa 19020 on Monday, January 9th
from 10:00-11:00 AM followed by his Service at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
