James F. Harkless

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of James F. Harkless, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who left us peacefully on May 6, 2026, at the age of 67. Born on September 15, 1958, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to the late William and Joan (nee Gasper) Harkless, James lived a life full of love, laughter, and cherished memories.

James dedicated his career as a machinist at Scotland Rack, where his strong work ethic and commitment to excellence were evident every day. Beyond his professional life, he was an avid sports fan, proudly cheering for his beloved Philadelphia teams, and he could often be found enjoying a spirited game of pool with friends.

He was a loving father to his four children: Patricia Harkless, Tina Murphy, James Harkless, and William Harkless, as well as his 7 grandchildren, Aavah Daniel Olivia Pushkin, Lacey Wolfgang, logan Harkless, Luke Harkless, and Dominick and Noah who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. James also leaves behind a devoted sister, Helen Harkless, who shared many cherished moments with him. He was preceded in death by his sister, Annmarie Kotz.

Known for his culinary skills, James found joy in cooking and baking, often treating his family and friends to delightful meals that brought everyone together. His love for fishing was another passion that allowed him to connect with nature and create lasting memories.

James F. Harkless will be dearly missed, but his memory will continue to shine brightly in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. In this time of sorrow, we remember a life filled with joy, connections, and a legacy of love that will endure.

Services and interment will be private.
