James Joseph Radetzky, beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on July 24, 1945, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Alfred Leo and Mildred (nee Kelly) Radetzky, James lived a life rich with love, commitment, and passion for his family, community, and the arts.
James proudly served as a Specialist 5 in the United States Army, enlisting on May 3, 1966, and continuing to serve until his honorable discharge on February 5, 1968. His dedication to his country remained a fundamental part of his identity throughout his life.
After earning an Associate's Degree, James embarked on a successful career as a manager with Bell Atlantic, where he was well-respected for his leadership and dedication. Following his retirement, he turned his passion for food into a delightful hobby, becoming a skilled gourmet chef known for his culinary creations that brought joy to countless family gatherings.
James was an active member of the Bensalem Historical Society, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Longwood Gardens, and the Viet Nam Veterans of America. His love for culture and community shone brightly through these affiliations, as he sought to uplift and contribute to the places and people he cherished.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Diane (nee Feduniue) Radetzky; his son, Michael Radetzky (Lisa); his daughter, Kim Douris (Yancey); his grandchildren, Trent, Luke, and John: his sister, Joan Desmond (the late Pete): and his brother in law, Mark Press, as well as his nieces, nephews, and friends.. Each of them will carry forward his legacy of kindness, creativity, and unwavering love. James is preceded in death by his siblings, Charles William Radetzky (the late Tammy), and Karen Press (Mark)
Services and interment will be private.
In this difficult time, the family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love and support they have received and invites all who knew James to join them in remembering a remarkable man whose spirit will live on in the hearts of many.
