James E. Smith

James E. Smith Sr., age 65 of Bensalem, passed away October 18, 2021 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Philadelphia. Jim was a resident of Bensalem for the past 22 years. Graduate of Del Haas High School in Bristol, Class of 1976. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran. Jim was employed with the Department of Defense as a plumber, retiring in 2021 after 15 years of service. He will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 22 years, Joan (Wisniewski) Smith. Beloved son of Frances (Dion) Smith and the late William H. Smith Jr. Devoted father of James Jr., Monique Smith and step-father of Jill Salmon, Lili Belcastro (Ricky) and Blair Salmon (Jonathan). Brother of William Smith (Pat), Edward Smith (Janice), Frances McCloskey (the late Tony), Joseph Smith (Linda) and Diane Ptasznyk (Bob). Also survived by 1 grandson, Spencer and 4 step-grandchildren; Chase, Carly, Ava, Anthony and many nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral Thursday 10:00 am at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa., 19020 followed by his service at 11:00 am. Interment private at a later date at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. In lieu of flowers donations in Jim’s name may be made to St. Jude Research Hosp., 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
