It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jennie M. (Salvaggio) Yates, who left us on Monday November 10, 2025, at the age of 98. Born on December 6, 1926, in Pittston, PA, to the late Libra (Martinelli) and Joseph Salvaggio. Jennie was a resident of Warrington, PA and spent most of her life as a resident in Philadelphia.
Jennie was a remarkable woman, known for her warm spirit and infectious smile. An avid Philadelphia Phillies fan, she never missed a game and could always be found cheering for her team with passionate enthusiasm. She found great joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was completing word searches or cooking delightful Sunday dinners surrounded by family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary of love, where she cherished every moment spent with her family, particularly her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy and pride.
Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Yates, Sr. She is survived by her beloved children: Joseph C. Yates, Jr (Kathy), Barbara Fretz, Robert Yates (Marsha) and Janet Schwartz (Joe), who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Jennie is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her 5 siblings. Jennie was a devoted mother and a beacon of strength and kindness in all our lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday November 18, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA, 19020 followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
