Jesse Earl Hill Jr, of Levittown, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on April 29th. He was 73 years old. Jesse worked for the United States Postal Service and retired after over 30 years of service. He was a Philadelphia native and long-time Levittown resident. Jesse was also a proud Vietnam Veteran and a dedicated advocate for all Veterans. Jesse will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 29 years, Patricia (nee Bleistein); his devoted children; Jocelyn Hill-Grosscup (Steven) and Jesse David Hill (Stefanie); his cherished grandchildren; Stevie, Madelyn, and Jesse, and his sister; Dorothy Mae Hauser (John). He will also be missed by the thousands of brothers he has welcomed home over the years. Jesse was a founding member of Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans (DV3). He was a lifetime member of the Philadelphia Vietnam Veterans Memorial Society, VFW, American Legion, Chapel of Four Chaplains and was active in numerous other Veterans groups. Jesse and DV3 established the annual DV3 Flag Memorial over 36 years ago, this patriotic display of 60,000 US Flags remembers those lost and their profound sacrifices. Jesse was an avid Bob Dylan enthusiast, having seen him in many different arenas over the past 5 decades with his family of Dylan fans. Dylan was the soundtrack of his life; every memory of an important milestone had a Dylan song playing in the background. Jesse loved joking with his friends and family. He was great at making people smile and he could take your troubles away with his hugs. He was a simple man that enjoyed a cold beer and good conversation. He was a man of great spirituality and he believed in “SIGNS” from the angels - look for them, as he will be leaving them for those he loved… Interment will be private per Jesse’s final wishes. Jesse will be honored at the DV3 Flag Memorial on Sunday, June 13 at 1:00 PM at Falls Township Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Delaware Valley Vietnam Veterans, PO Box 615 Levittown, PA 19055.
