Joan Marie (Keyburn) Clark: A Celebration of a Life Well-Lived

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Marie (Keyburn) Clark, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Joan peacefully departed this world on Sunday, May 19, 2024, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, surrounded by her loving family. She was 77 years old.

Born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Helen (McLaughlin) Keyburn, Joan lived a life rich in love, service, and adventure. For over 40 years, she called Bensalem, PA her home, creating a warm and inviting space filled with memories that will forever be cherished.

Joan’s love, hard work, and passion were readily seen in her relationships with family and friends, as well as in the way she proudly cared for her home. Always beautifully decorated and welcoming, her home was her sanctuary, a true reflection of her dedication and love. From the candy bowls and Hershey bars on her sofa table to the delicious meals with her famous chocolate cake finale and take-home-platters, Joan was forever graciously hosting, providing for and warming the hearts and bellies of those she loved. Not only did she bring people together, but she did so with a spirit of selflessness and adventure, ensuring plentiful laughter, games, entertainment, and good cheer for all.

A devoted member of St. Ephrem Parish, Joan's faith was a cornerstone of her life and provided her with comfort and strength. Her weekly presence at the parish, along with her commitment to living a life of service to others, was a testament to her unwavering faith.

Joan was actively engaged in her community, enjoying early morning gym workouts, swimming, bowling, local senior center events, and a variety of activities with her close friends. As a supportive mother and doting Grammy, she spent most of her free time with her loving son Jeffrey, daughter-in-law Jill, cherished grandson Gregory, and her favorite four-legged friend, Luna. Joan’s adventurous heart led her to explore places both near and far, often vacationing with her family and embracing new experiences with enthusiasm.

In addition to Jeffrey, Jill, and Gregory, Joan is also survived by her beloved sister, Diane Judd and her three brothers, Jack (Valerie), James, and Bill Keyburn (Diane), as well as many loving nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother, Helen, and earlier this year, by her special friend Bob Clinton.

Joan will be deeply missed, but her spirit, love, and the many beautiful memories she created will forever remain in our hearts.

Relatives and friends are invited to honor Joan's life and memory on Saturday, June 1, 2024, with a visitation from 10 to 11 AM at St. Ephrem Catholic Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020. A Mass will follow at 11 AM to celebrate her life and legacy. Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Joan's memory to Special Olympics Montgomery County, 980 Harvest Drive, Suite 203, Blue Bell, PA 19422 (See donation link at the bottom of the page) by calling 215-542-1140.
