Joan Macnichol

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan (Dubek) MacNichol, who left us peacefully at home on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 2, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late Julia (Jastrzemski) and Theodore Dubek. She called Bensalem home for the past 37 years.

Joan had a deep love for Philadelphia, a city she dedicated 17 years to promoting. As a valued member of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau, she worked in sales, services, and tourism, sharing the city’s beauty and spirit with countless visitors before her retirement in 2011. Her passion for travel and exploration continued even after she retired, as she went on to help visitors at the Bucks County Visitor Center.

Above all else, Joan cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Harold MacNichol, Jr. Joan’s legacy of love lives on through her children: Joseph B. MacNichol, Kim M. Macauley (Joe), and Jill MacNichol. She is also survived by her sister, Arlene Biondo, and a legacy of love with 8 grandchildren: Joe (Lucy), Ryan (Kait), Rachel, Dillon, Sarah, Nicole, Mathew, and Allison, along with 4 great-grandchildren: Zoe, Edie, Riley, and Jack.

Joan's warmth, her enthusiasm for cooking and baking, and her joy in spending time with loved ones will be deeply missed. The beautiful memories she created in the kitchen, hosting family parties, and on her travels will remain in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday September 15, 2025, from 10 to 11 AM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by her graveside service at Resurrection Cemetery.
