John R Brochon

With sadness, we announce the passing of John R. Brochon, who left us on May 28, 2026, at the age of 83. John was the son of the late Elizabeth (Sohmer) and Emile Brochon, born on June 3, 1942 in Philadelphia, PA. At age 11, he moved with his family to Croydon, PA, where he attended St.Thomas Aquinas Elementary School and later graduated from Delhaas High School in 1960.

John built a long and accomplished career as an engineer in the nuclear research field - a profession that reflected his curiosity and lifelong commitment to innovation. Outside of work, he enjoyed trips to folk festivals in his camper van, he was an avid amateur radio operator, and a longtime member of the Philadelphia Repeater Association. His enthusiasm for communication and technology led him to found BuxCom, one of the early local ISPs serving the community. Known for his sweet tooth, he enjoyed sharing meals with family and friends.

A devoted member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, John was deeply involved in the Knights of Columbus and proudly served as a 3rd Degree Knight with the Pius XII Council #4765. 

John is survived by his siblings Emile Brochon (Anna), Mark Brochon (late Hilda Brochon), and Elizabeth Praul (Francis). He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation on Saturday, June 13, 2026, from 10 to 11 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021, followed by his Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, John requested donations be made in his memory to St. Thomas Aquinas Church. www.tomlinsonfh.com
