It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, John E. Clapp, affectionately known as Jack. Born on August 28, 1939, in Philadelphia to James and Dorothy Clapp, John left us peacefully in his Feasterville home on June 5, 2025, at the age of 85.
John honorably served our country as a Military Police officer in the U.S. Army, demonstrating his commitment to duty and service. He was a devoted and loving husband to the late Mabel Clapp, with whom he shared a beautiful life filled with love and adventure.
John is survived by his cherished daughters, Linda Kleppinger and her husband Brett, and Debbie McDermott and her husband Gil. He was a proud grandfather to Chrissy (Kleppinger) Ayella and her husband Fred, John Lewandowski and his wife Alexandria, Breanna Lewandowski, and Andrew Kleppinger. He also leaves behind four adoring great-grandchildren: Nick Ayella, Dawson Lewandowski, Aurora Lewandowski, and Juniper Lewandowski.
A man of many passions, John loved to travel and recount the stories of the adventures he and Mabel enjoyed together. He found joy in vegetable gardening, caring for his horses, and maintaining his land, often seen riding his tractor with a smile on his face.
John had a profound love for his neighborhood, where he and Mabel lived for 50 years. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to neighbors in need, embodying the spirit of community. His energy, warmth, and infectious smile could light up any room he entered, making him a beloved figure to all who knew him.
A lifelong active member of the LuLu Temple Shriners, John was dedicated to his community and the values they represent.
John E. Clapp will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, kindness, and his smile will forever remain in our hearts.
Services and Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack's memory can be made to the Shriners Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (Please see donation link at the bottom of the page) www.tomlinsonfh.com
