John R. King

John R. “Jack” King passed away peacefully at his home on February 3, 2024, surrounded by his loving family at the age of 83. He was born in Abington, PA to the late Edward and Gertrude (Locke) King and was a resident of Bensalem for 66 years.


Jack led a fulfilling life, dedicated to his family, his country, and his work. He proudly served in the United States Army. Following his military service, Jack pursued a career in the information technology industry, working at Exide Corporation for 28 years and later at the Veterans Affairs for 16 years.


Known for his kind and selfless nature, John was always ready to lend a helping hand to those around him. He found joy in assisting his family with home renovations and remodeling projects, ensuring their dreams became a reality.


Jack was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and especially enjoyed watching and cheering on the Philadelphia Phillies He cherished time spent with his family above all else. Creating memorable moments during the holidays was particularly important to him. His playful spirit shone through as he delighted his loved ones, donning the persona of the Easter Bunny during the annual family egg hunt. His contagious laughter and genuine joy brought warmth and happiness to every gathering. In his quieter moments, Jack found solace in listening to classic country music.


Jack is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Carol E. Spaziano-King. He is also survived by his siblings, Edward “Ned” King (Betty), Gertrude Green (The late George), William King (The late Barbara), and his sisters-in-law Joan King (The late David) and Toni Barnabei (The late Anthony) and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his brother, David King.


Relatives and friends are invited to attend Jack’s graveside service on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at precisely 11:00 am at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
