John D Mcginley

John D. McGinley, 56, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 6, 2025.

John could be found outside his home as the weather would break, gardening both the front and back yards. He was meticulous about how his flowers and yard looked and always appreciated a compliment about his “green thumb.” John loved taking his children on trips to the Jersey Shore and the mountains. The hours he spent by the ocean and on the beach always seemed to give him great joy. He would always make time to drive from Wildwood to Sea Isle City for his favorite seafood restaurant- Carmen’s Seafood. John was an avid Beatles fan and proud member of the Steamfitters Union Local 420, for 35 years.

John was predeceased by his son Kyle T. McGinley and his father Thomas J. McGinley, Sr. He is the loving father of Sheridan and Tierney McGinley; beloved son Mary McGinley (nee O’Donnell); dear brother Thomas J. McGinley, Jr., Kelly Hegarty, and Brian McGinley (Sue). John also leaves behind his stepdaughter Alexis DeMaio (Victor), his nieces and nephews, extended family, friends, and neighbors.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a viewing for John D. McGinley on Friday, April 11, 2025, from 9:30-11am at St. Christopher Church 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, Pa 19116 followed by a mass of Christian Burial at 11am. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
