John Mathai Pullukattu

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Mathai Pullukattu, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who peacefully entered into eternal rest on June 7, 2025, at the age of 79. Born on April 13, 1946, in Kottayam, Kerala, India, to the late P.O and Chinnamma (nee Chandy) Mathai, John dedicated his life to his family and his work as a retailer, proudly self-employed in the community he loved.

A devoted member of the Knanaya Catholic Community, John found solace and strength in his faith. He was a beloved parishioner of Saint Albert the Great Church, where he actively participated in the life of the parish, forging lasting friendships and sharing his warmth with all who had the privilege of knowing him.

John is survived by his loving wife, Molly John Pullukattu (nee Thomas); his three beloved children, Anu Pullukattu, Mathen Pullukattu, and Sujatha Kurian; his cherished grandchildren, Mazen Ashraf, Anne Kurian, Anthony Kurian, Abigail Kurian, Adao Cuevas, Jaan Pullukattu, and Thena Acosta, and his dear siblings, sister Omana Slorby (Robert), sister Elsa Mathew Mathew), and brother Alex Mathew (Leelama). He was preceded in death by his brother, Jose Pullukattu. His legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all he touched.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend John’s viewing at the Tomlinson Funeral Home on Friday, June 13th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM. A second viewing will be held at St. Albert the Great Church, 212 Welsh Road, Huntingdon Valley, Pa 19006 on Saturday, June 14th from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by his Mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
