Joseph L. Carbo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joseph L. Carbo, who left this world peacefully on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on January 2, 1941, in Philadelphia, PA to the late Frances (D'Angelo) and Joseph Carbo and was a resident of Bensalem since 1971.

Joe dedicated 27 years of his life to Bell Telephone, working as an inventory manager. But his true passions extended far beyond the workplace. In his younger days, he enjoyed the thrill of tennis and the serenity of sailing. His love for the arts shone through his appreciation for opera and classical music. A lifelong learner and history buff, Joe had a particular love of European history. Joe also enjoyed his weekly Vincenzo gathering with family and friends. Joe also served honorably in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard from 1963 to 1969 as an infantryman.

His greatest pride, however, was his family. Joe exemplified what it meant to be a supportive dad, volunteering his time to coach his sons in sports throughout their childhood. He was also deeply involved in his community, serving as past President of the Northeast Optimist Club for many years. Proud of his Italian heritage, he cherished every opportunity to speak fluent Italian, often reminiscing about Italian history and the trips to Italy that brought his family together and filled them with unforgettable memories. Joe enjoyed walking quite often throughout the neighborhood, seeing neighbors and friends, with his walking stick in his later years.

Joseph is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa May (Costanzo); his sons, Joseph and Richard Carbo (Melissa); and his darling grandchildren, Oliver, Nigel, and Eleanora and his sister-in-law, Mary Carbo. Joe will be deeply missed by his family, for holiday gatherings, which included singing Christmas carols. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Anthony and Ronnie Carbo.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Friday October 30, 2026 from 10 to 11 AM at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his Mass of Christian at 11 AM. Rite of Committal Resurrection Cemetery.
