Katherine M. Atkinson (Mcvey)

February 20, 1935 — April 19, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Katherine M. Atkinson, a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this life peacefully on April 19, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on February 20, 1935, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Joseph and Mary McVey, Katherine lived a full and vibrant life, rooted in compassion and love for her family and community.

Katherine’s professional journey as a secretary, primarily with Thalheimer Brothers, exemplified her dedication and work ethic. An avid reader, Katherine was never found without a book by her side. She was also an enthusiastic Eagles fan, cheering them on and never missing a game.

However, it was her role as a mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother that truly defined her. She cherished every moment spent with her daughters, Kathleen Finkbeiner (the late William) and Deborah Beuttenmuller, (Michael), and her grandchildren, Nicole Walker (Allen), Lauren Callan (Douglas), Matthew Finkbeiner, (Jessica), and Brittany Frino (William), as well as her great grandchildren, Rylan, Mason, Brayden, Everly, Bria, Baker and was looking forward to the birth of another great-grandchild due in August. She is also survived by her loving sister Clare Ehrgott. Katherine was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, Richard, as well as her sisters Mary Atkinson, and Joan McVey.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Wednesday, April 30th from 9:30-10:30 AM followed by her mass at 10:30 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

Katherine’s legacy of love, compassion, and strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will remain a guiding light for her family and friends. In remembrance of Katherine’s life, let us gather to celebrate the joy she brought into our lives.
