Laurieanne Sherman

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurieanne (Deering) Sherman, who left us on Saturday October 10, 2026, at the age of 65. Born on June 15, 1961 in Abington, PA to the late Margaret E. “Peggy” (McCullen) and James B Deering, whom she deeply missed and always appreciated the loving and caring household throughout her childhood. Laurieanne made her home in Feasterville Trevose, where she filled the hearts of many with her kindness and unwavering support and was previously of the Frankford section in Philadelphia and the Nottingham section in Bensalem.

Laurieanne proudly dedicated over 20 years of her life to the medical field as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), spending 14 of those years at Frankford Hospital. Her compassion and care touched countless lives, and she also served as a scrub nurse at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, always approaching her work with a no-nonsense attitude and a generous spirit.

Laurieanne was also an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, and her love for collecting elephant figurines added a touch of joy to her home. Known in the neighborhood for her ready smile and open heart, she was a mother figure to many, always there to lend a helping hand or an understanding ear.

A devoted mother, Laurieanne is survived by her four children: Carey Sherman, Danielle Sherman, Howard Sherman, Jr (Denise), and Julieanna Thomas (Michael), as well as her 12 cherished grandchildren; Aiden, Evan, Andre Jr., James, Jacob, Howard III, Aubrey, Stella, Ian Jr, Zachary, Michael III, and Haylie. She enjoyed nothing more than weekends spent with family, especially when she was whipping up Sunday morning breakfasts with the delightful sounds of The Beatles—especially "Hey Jude"—playing in the background.

Laurieanne is also survived by her brothers James Deering (Peggy), Michael Deering, Robert Deering (Vicki), Christopher Deeing (The late Donna), and Matthew Deering (Dori), and her sister Susan Kushner (Matthew) and many loving nieces and nephews. She leaves behind her long-time companion of over 20 years, Octavio Diaz, who will forever hold her memory close. Laurieanne was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Deering and her nephew James A Deering. She was also preceded in death by her beloved dogs, Prance and Nakita, and her cat, Esme, who brought her joy and companionship throughout the years.
