Luke Jason Hawthorne

It is with profound sadness that we announce the untimely passing of Luke Jason Hawthorne our beloved son, brother, and friend. Luke left us on September 3, 2025, at the age of 18. Luke was born on December 11, 2006, in Lansdale, PA. Luke was a bright light in the lives of all who knew him. He resided in Bensalem, PA, where he created countless cherished memories with his family and friends.

Luke was a passionate student with a zest for life. He graduated from Bucks County Technical High School completing the Diesel Mechanic program and proud of the skills he developed. This summer, he achieved a significant milestone by earning his private pilot's license through Legacy Aviation. This achievement was a testament to his dedication and love of flying. Luke had just begun his journey to becoming a commercial pilot at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) only weeks before this tragedy.

In addition to his interests in mechanics and aviation, Luke had a deep love for animals and often found enjoyment gaming, playing a pickup game of basketball, and working out with friends. His membership in the Anthracite Outdoor Adventure Area reflected his passion for exploration, as he thrived in the great outdoors, relishing every moment spent in nature. Luke was known for his kindness, generosity, and infectious laughter, leaving a lasting impact on everyone he encountered.

Luke is survived by his devoted parents, Jason and Hannah (nee Friendship) Hawthorne, and his adoring sister, Ava Hawthorne. Together, they will forever cherish the love and memories they created as a family.

Family and friends are invited to come together to celebrate Luke's life and the joy he brought to all of us. His visitation will be held at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Friday, September 12th from 4:00-5:00 PM followed by his Mass at 5:00 PM. Interment will be private.

Luke’s spirit will continue to soar, just as he dreamed to do, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
