Manuel J Pinto

December 2, 1944 — January 5, 2024

After a lifetime filled with love and abundant blessings, Jim Pinto passed away peacefully on January 5, 2024, at his home in Bensalem, PA at the age of 79. Surrounded by his wife of 51 years, Rosalie, and his devoted son, Christopher, he left this world with no regrets, and a heart filled with gratitude.

Born and raised in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, he was proud of his Philadelphia roots. Proud alumni of St. Vincent De Paul and Germantown High School, he was a lifelong believer in giving more than you take. His capacity to love and willingness to care for others so selflessly was the hallmark of his life.

In addition to his wife and son, he is survived by his brother and best friend, Thomas Pinto (Adele) and predeceased by his brother and sisters Charles (Chalie), Elizabeth (Betty Jean) and Susan (Suzie). His dedication to others extended to his chosen family as well, sharing unconditional fatherly love to Robert (Bobby) Jordan, and being a proud, doting, surrogate grandfather to Emily, Madelyn, Sarah and John Patrick Beck.

His working career spanned 6 decades – first as a proud member of the US Army, truck mechanic, and master painter and wallpaper hanger. But, for all of the work he did to provide for his family, he found his purpose over the last 20 years working with the incredible team of public servants in Bensalem Township. Knowing the power of personal connection, he employed his boundless empathy and kindness to all who walked through the doors of the Bensalem Township Municipal Building and because of it, he liked to believe that a handshake and a hug could change our community for the better. A proud committeeman, he always wanted to help others and be part of the solution. He beamed with pride as a member of the Bensalem Township Veterans Advisory Board – from putting flags on the graves of Vets, to advocating for Veteran housing, spending time at the VFW and advocating for the local Veterans Food Bank, he understood his responsibility to share his gifts and talents with others to help those in need.

He found peace on the banks of the Wissahickon and Neshaminy Creek, always with a fishing rod in his hand. A lifelong angler, he loved to be reminded of the miracle of life, with his brother by his side, surrounded by nature. He loved family time and memories spent in North Wildwood and Sea Isle City, never passing up the chance to share an ice cream cone and precious time with his son, from the time he was born, right up to his last breath.

Jim’s family would like to invite all to celebrate his profound life and legacy on Saturday, January 13, 2024 at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020. Visitation begins at 9:30 AM followed by mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations made in his name to America’s Vet Dogs (www.vetdogs.org) to help secure a service dog for a Veteran in need.
