Marguerite Butler (Mcgovern)

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Marguerite Butler, aged 83, who left us on July 13, 2025. Born on May 10, 1942, in Jersey City, NJ, to the late Marguerite (nee McGinley) and Terrance McGovern, Marguerite was a beloved daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She dedicated her life to her family and her community, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.

Marguerite enjoyed a successful career in the finance industry, serving as a bank manager at Cheltenham Bank and CoreStates Bank, where she was known for her dedication and commitment to her work. Her professional accomplishments were only outshone by her unwavering devotion to her family. She is survived by her cherished daughter, Tracey Simcox (Timothy), as well as her adoring grandchildren, Caitlin Kowalick (Owen) and Robert Simcox (fiance Kate Grouel), and her beloved great grandchildren, Elizabeth and John. Marguerite was preceded in death by her loving husband, James, her son, Timothy, and her brother John McGovern.

A long-standing member of St. Ephrem Church, Marguerite found joy and fulfillment in her role as a lunch mother, where she nurtured the spirits of countless children. Her kindness, compassion, and commitment to her faith shaped the lives of many and will be fondly remembered.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Saturday, July 19th from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by her Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.

In this time of sorrow, we invite all who knew and loved Marguerite to join us as we pay tribute to a remarkable woman whose legacy of love will endure in the hearts of her family and community. Her spirit will forever remain a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
