Mary Jane Dunne

Mary Jane (Felix) Dunne, age 99, passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at River's Edge Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to the late Mary (Dochney) and Robert Felix on January 30, 1926.

Mary Jane was preceded in death by her husbands, Joseph Dunne, Sr. and Edward White, Sr. She was also preceded in death by her sons, Edward White, Jr. and Joseph Dunne, Jr., and her grandson Patrick White. Loving Mother of Robert White, Mary Elizabeth/Callan White-Hinman (Kelley), Dr. Kathleen Eggli (Douglas), Eileen McIntosh (Jay), Michael Dunne (Maureen), and Gaye Jackson. Grandmother of Barbara Jean, Buck, Lizzy, David, Jeff, Kelly, Jay, Caroline, Michael, Jennifer, and Jackson, as well as 6 great grandchildren.

Mary Jane was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Girls. She worked as an administrator for many years at Misericordia Hospital. During World War II, she kept in constant contact with over 20 soldiers abroad, so they had some normalcy in a very abnormal time. Her letter writing didn’t end there. She never forgot a birthday or an anniversary. Her Christmas card list was over 200! Mary Jane was a voracious reader. She loved mysteries, especially murder mysteries, and romances. Mary Jane also loved the maraschino cherries which accompanied her manhattans. Her laughter brought joy to those around her and will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Monday, June 2, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 1731 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Her burial will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Yeadon, PA.
