It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Mary E. (Livingston)
Lancaster-Mobley, who was called home to glory and peacefully left on Monday, July
14, 2025, at the age of 77. Mary, who was affectionately known as Butch by her loved
ones, was born in Norristown, PA on November 2, 1947, to the late Lula Mae (Byrd) and
Willie Livingston.
She was the ultimate “Queen B.” and her spitfire, Scorpio spirit was present in all that
she said and did. If Mary was happy, you knew it, and if Mary was unhappy; you really
knew it, but honestly, in all things, she was a huge bundle of LOVE! She enjoyed living a
simple leisurely life. Connecting with her friends (old and new) on Facebook, and going
to the dollar store or thrift shops were some of her favorite pastimes. She found joy in
little things like conquering levels in Candy Crush, dancing to her favorite tunes,
watching Law & Order, nurturing her huge (jungle sized) plant babies; but not just
nurturing them, she also enjoyed sharing them and their clippings with others as if to
say her plant babies would ‘spring forth, multiply’, and live on forever. Her fun-loving,
enthusiastic spirit and passion for life will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives
she touched.
She was employed by the State of New Jersey Division of Motor Vehicles, where she
held many job titles over the course of her career, including Shop Steward of Labor
Union CWA Local 1033. After more than 30 years of dedicated service, she retired in
2013 and was praised by her peers for a job well done.
She dedicated her life to her family, marrying the love of her youth, the father of her
children, Richard William Lancaster, Sr., on February 10, 1968. Their union spanned
many years, and their love and legacy continue to live on through their son, Richard Jr.,
and their daughter, Monica, as well as through their beloved grandchildren and
great-grandchildren who all adored their Mom-Mom.
On November 7, 2013, Mary was blessed with another loving union when she married
her cherished and devoted husband, Andrew Lee Mobley, Jr., who preceded her in
death. Their marriage brought her a lifetime of joy, laughter, and deep companionship; a
love that became a lasting foundation for their family.
Mary's love for her family was immeasurable. She treasured every moment spent with
her son, Richard Lancaster, Jr. (Angela), and her daughter, Monica Marie Morris
(Leonard). She found immense pride and joy in her grandchildren: Richard Lancaster III
(Aria), Shakiera Lynn Scott (beloved angel), Eric Scott Jr., and Taiya Mason.
Her great-grandchildren; Kiera Scott, Enzo Scott, Avani Lancaster, Kharia Haywood,
Isabella (Bella) Seip, and Robert (Robbie) Warrell Jr. brought a special light to her days
and filled her heart with never-ending joy.
She was preceded in death by her only sibling, her sister, Dolores “Bunny” Bridge.
A vibrant spirit, Mary brought joy, laughter, and unconditional love wherever she went
and she was favoured by all who knew her. She leaves behind a devoted niece, Monét
Bridge Dobrovolec (Cliff); and nephew, Chad Bridge (Wendy), great-nieces,
great-nephews, and a host of dear friends and loved ones whose lives were forever
touched by her big smile, warm heart and her unique style and grace.
Family and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, from
11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA
19020; the service to pay respects and celebrate her life will begin immediately after the
viewing at 12:00 p.m.
Mary will be laid to rest on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at 10:30 a.m. at Washington
Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
Mary’s legacy will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and her infectious spirit
will continue to inspire us all. As we gather to honor her memory, let us remember the
laughter, love, and joy she brought into our lives.
