Matthew E. Donnelly

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew Edward Donnelly, who passed away on Saturday August 29, 2026, at the age of 79. Born on March 16, 1947, in Abington, PA, to the late Thomas and Helen (nee Whalen) Donnelly, and was a resident of Oakford for the past 58 years.

Matthew was a proud US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. After his time in the military, he became a skilled floor layer with Local# 1823 then Local#251, where he was known for his strong work ethic and commitment to craftsmanship.

He is lovingly survived by his devoted wife of 58 years, Ann (Dunleavy) Donnelly; his sons, Mark and Michael Donnelly; his brothers Joseph Donnelly (Dorothy) and Timothy Donnelly (Lisa) and countless loving friends and relatives. He was preceded in death by his siblings Thomas and James Donnelly. Matthew's love for his family was evident to all who knew him, and he leaves behind many fond memories and stories that will forever be treasured.

In addition to his dedication to family and work, Matthew was an avid sports fan, passionately supporting the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. Matt was a longtime member of the Bensalem Country Club BGA and always looked forward to golfing on Sunday mornings each week, He also enjoyed bowling and held a lifetime membership at the VFW, where he connected with fellow veterans and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation Thursday, September 10, 2026, from 11 AM to 12:30 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike. Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his service at 12:30 PM. Interment Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in Matthew’s memory can be made to PGA Reach Philadelphia, PGA REACH Philadelphia - Committed to serving our communities and growing the game of golf.
