Matthew Joseph Farris, a beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 8, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on July 30, 1951, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Thomas and Catherine (nee Brown), Matt lived a life characterized by his hard work, strong family values, and a generous spirit.
Matt proudly served in the United States Navy, where he earned the rank of Seaman (SN E-3). After his military service, Matt dedicated many years of his life to his career as a truck driver and was a proud member of the Teamsters union. His commitment to transportation was matched only by his love of the seas as a member of the Wissinoming Yacht Club, where he embraced the joys of camaraderie.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, Mary Beth Farris (Justin), and sons Matthew Farris and Cody Farris (Angel), along with his cherished brother Thomas Farris and sister Peggy Rispo-Berman. Matthew's legacy continues through his grandchildren: Matthew, Ryan, Gavin, William, Ciara, Gianna, Maximus, Alex, Anders, and Ceraphina, each of whom held a special place in his heart. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. Matt was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Lou, Ray, and Kathleen.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Matt’s visitation at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, Pa 19020 on Thursday, July 16th from 10:00-11:00 AM, followed by his funeral service at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Resurrection Cemetery.
In this time of sorrow, may we all find solace in our cherished memories of Matt and the love he shared. His spirit will remain alive in the hearts of his family and friends as we celebrate a life well-lived.
