Maureen Estelle Clark Fenton. Born January 28, 1940. in Philadelphia, Pa. She grew up in several areas of the city. She graduated from St. Boniface Business School, Philadelphia, Pa. 1956. She became a legal secretary at 16 yrs old. In 1959 she married James J. Fenton (deceased) they later divorced. She then moved to NYC and was a legal secretary there for several years. Maureen came back to the Philadelphia area at the end of the 1960’s and settled in the Northeast section of the city, where she would live for the next decade. She was very involved in her churches CYO and taught CCD which at the time was St. Dominic’s, Philadelphia, PA. Maureen also began her ministry of putting on religious plays there. During this time she also became a brown belt in Jiu Jitsu.
In the late 1970’s Maureen moved her family to Bucks County, Pa. At that point she was working for Diners Club ( the credit card company). She first started with them as a secretary and had recently become a salesman. Maureen was one of the first females on the east coast to sell the credit card to establishments. She along with her sister Anne, took night classes at the Bucks County Technical High School, Levittown, Pa. For auto mechanics. They were tired of having to wait on men to fix their cars.
Maureen, joined her new Church St. Elizabeth’s, Bensalem, Pa. First, joining the choir. Then she established the “Via Dolorosa” ministry. As the founder, director, writer and narrator for the Passion Play. Maureen along with volunteers would perform not only at St. Elizabeth’s but also countless churches throughout the tri-state area during lent. She also wrote and directed several original variety shows.
After making the flowers for both her daughter’s weddings. Maureen started a wedding flower business called Silk and Satin.Maureen was a member Mensa. Maureen formed a singing group called “The Harmony Trio”, who would perform at Pennsbury Manor for their Holly nights for over 30 years. It’s something she looked forward to every year. Maureen became a grandmother or as she liked to be called “Grandmommy” in the late 1980’s and decided her next calling was taking care of her grandkids. While still heavily involved in her church, she eventually brought Via Dolorosa ministries to St Thomas Aquinas. Maureen loved to read mystery books, Sudoku puzzles, work in her garden, miniature doll houses, all kinds of collectibles, music, going to broadway shows, she loved to laugh loved her family and the blessed Virgin Mary.
Maureen is proceeded in death by both her parents. John F. Clark, Estelle N. Clark (Bonamo),her son Charles Fenton, her sister Anne C Wyatt (Clark), Brother in Law Richard W Wyatt Sr., nephews, Richard W. Wyatt Jr. and Robert F. Wyatt, and her best friend John Schickel aka Pappy to the grandkids. Maureen leaves behind her daughters Margaret S. Fenton, Kimberly C. Goldacker (Daniel DiTommaso), Grandchildren, Nicole M. Goldacker (Fran Gillespie), Christopher C. Goldacker Jr. (Ashley), a nephew, Raymond A. Wyatt (Gloria). Several cousins and many great nieces and nephews. As well as her fur babies Gabby, Lucy, Bella and Penny. In 2018, Maureen took ill. Her health declined and she never really recovered. On June 10, 2024. Surrounded by all those who loved her. She passed peacefully into the arms of the angels.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at Assumption BVM Church. 1900 Meadowbrook Rd., Feasterville-Trevose, PA 19053 from 9:30 to 10:30 AM, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM.
