With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Nancy Jean Fuhr, a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who departed this world on October 8, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on August 1, 1936, in Reading, Pennsylvania, to the late Henry and Jeanette (nee Reichstetter) Greth, Nancy spent her life nurturing the beauty around her, both in her profession as a hair stylist and in her passion for horticulture and horses.
Nancy dedicated many years to her craft at Jean Madeline Inc., where she shared her talent and love for styling with countless clients. Her vibrant spirit and warm smile not only elevated her clients' confidence but also brought joy to the many lives she touched. A devoted member of the Horticultural Society of Bucks County and the Bensalem Senior Center, Nancy found happiness in nature and the companionship of her friends, as well as the unconditional love of her dogs and horses. She cherished attending horse shows and spent many joyful hours riding, connecting with the animals and the great outdoors.
Nancy is survived by her son, Peter W. Fuhr (Barbara), her son, Steven B. Fuhr (Michelle), her siblings, Suzie Greth Blanford (Ozzie), James Greth and Jeffrey Greth; as well as her grandchildren: Katie Fuhr, Shannon Dennis (James), Bobby Fallon, Alexis Fuhr, Olivia Fuhr, Brian Hipwell, Chelsea Hipwell, Thomas Hipwell (Fiancé Kaitlyn), and Chloe Hipwell, her great grandchildren, Miles Dennis, Brayden Dennis, and Addison Dennis, and her many nieces and nephews. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Peter M. Fuhr, her brother, Gerald Greth, and her sister, Patricia A. Greth Williams (the late Ellis).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society or the Bucks County SPCA in Nancy’s memory, a fitting tribute to her lifelong passion for nature, community, and animals. Links are posted below.
Nancy Jean Fuhr will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her as we remember her with love and gratitude.
