Nancy Ann O’Neill Reisig, 1932-2026

With heavy hearts we announce the passing of Nancy Ann Reisig (née O’Neill), a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, who left us peacefully on July 29, 2026, at the age of 93.

Nancy was born on December 28, 1932, in Norton, Virginia to the late William and Frances (née Connor) O’Neill. Her mother died tragically when Nancy was only 18 months old. She and her older sister Bernice were then raised by Catholic Sisters of Charity in the Gonzaga Home orphanage in the Germantown section of Philadelphia, an experience that shaped Nancy’s immense compassion and resilience. She remained there while she attended Little Flower Catholic High School. This background forged her strong Catholic faith as well as a passion to have a family of her own.

After marrying the love of her life, Dave Reisig, Nancy spent her life as a devoted homemaker. She was thrilled each time she found out she was expecting a new baby. Cheerful and outgoing, she helped create community and brightened the days of the people around her.

Outside the home, Nancy served in the leadership and neighborhood activities of the Pine Tree Farms Association. She and Dave thoroughly enjoyed living in their beloved ‘Pines’ for 67 years. Less formally, she frequently took food to elderly neighbors and helped those in need. Beyond the neighborhood, she founded the American Diabetes Association’s Lower Bucks County Chapter, which is still active today. She further contributed over 40 years of service as a Republican Committee Woman.

She took time to relax, too, especially cherishing the time she and Dave spent at “Uncle Zook’s” house on Long Beach Island with Dave’s extended family and later at their own ‘little beach house’ in Beach Haven West. Nancy especially enjoyed a weekly flea market in Manahawkin, where she indulged her love of shopping, garnering a lifetime supply of beautiful T-shirts for her grown children and their kids.

This past year, Nancy lived in the Memory Care section of The Birches in Newtown. Even there, she shuffled around the hallways in her wheelchair all day, talked with everyone she met, and forged new friendships with the residents and staff. Our family is grateful to The Birches for helping her continue to live abundantly and especially for accommodating us and providing excellent care during Nancy’s final week of life. She felt loved there!

Nancy leaves behind her three cherished daughters, Nancy Power, Rita Geddes (Joseph), and Diane Nelms (Robert), her daughter-in-law Mary Reisig, her son-in-law, Martin Stubbs, and her cherished friend, Lesley Petrilli. Her legacy also continues through her beloved grandchildren: Gary DiMartino (Megan), Jason DiMartino, Frances Power (Eric), Nicholas Reisig (Julianna), Joseph Geddes III., Alyson Geddes (Daria), Julie Geddes, Kevin Nelms and Samuel Nelms (April).

Nancy was proud to be a great grandmother to Angel (Kellen), Anthony, Justin, Denise, Brandon, Justin, Riley, Rory, and the newest, baby Addison, who she held and marveled at on her last excursion away from The Birches. She missed meeting her first great, great grandchild by just a few months!

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, David H. Reisig; her daughter Janet and son David; her siblings Bernice, William and Shayne; and her infant granddaughter, Jacqueline.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Nancy’s viewing at St. Christopher’s Church, 13301 Proctor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19116 on Tuesday August 4th from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM, followed immediately by a funeral Mass. A brief graveside service will ensue at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem.
