It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patrick Francis McGinty on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was 75 years old. Born in Philadelphia to the late Margaret (Bradley) and Edmond McGinty and a resident of New Hope for the past 9 years and formerly of Middletown Twp. After his high school graduation, Patrick served honorably in the US Army National Guard.
He was the heart of his family—the steady, unwavering presence who held everything together. He was the rock everyone could count on, offering wisdom with just the right amount of guidance to help you find your own way. A devoted husband, father, “Poppy” grandfather, brother, and friend, Pat was the kind of person who made life better just by being in it.
Pat dedicated 37 years to a career in law enforcement, beginning as a K9 officer with his beloved K9 partner, Butch. Through hard work and dedication, he rose through the ranks to Lieutenant and had the honor of serving as Public Safety Director for two years. He was also a proud graduate of the FBI National Academy, a testament to his commitment to his profession and his community. Even after retirement, he found a way to stay connected to the career he loved, spending the last 11 years working part-time in Juvenile Court—a role he truly enjoyed.
Beyond his career, Pat’s love for his family was at the core of everything he did. He was the Patriarch of his family, the ultimate family man, always present, always supportive. Whether coaching his children’s teams, traveling across the country to cheer them on, or simply being there with a reassuring word, he made it clear that nothing mattered more to him than the people he loved. As his children grew, he and Nancy embraced new adventures together, traveling with friends and seeking out experiences that kept their adventurous spirits alive. If there was a mountain to climb or a zipline to try, Pat was always first in line.
He had a deep love for music, specifically oldies, and was always up for a good game—whether it was volleyball, softball, or family game night. He thrived on the camaraderie of training at the gym and cherished the time spent with fellow veterans. His summers were spent where he was happiest: on his boat, at the beach house, and fishing with his family and Best Friend. He created a tradition that will forever live on.
Pat’s kindness, loyalty, and strength left an indelible mark on everyone who knew him. His legacy of love, laughter, wisdom will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
Patrick is survived by his devoted wife, Nancy (Cooper) McGinty. He is also survived by his three loving children, Patrick McGinty (Denise Lake), Bryan McGinty (Bethany) and Janice Perry (Christopher); his 10 grandchildren, (Nathan, Mckenzie, Gavin, Emmaleigh, Jake, Ryleigh, Aiden, Avery, Delaney and Declan); His siblings: The late Joseph C McGinty (Anne), Edmond McGinty (Kathleen), Daniel McGinty, the late William G.
