It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Richard M. Cerulla, age 73.
Born October 12, 1952, in Hazelton, PA, to the late Edward Sr. and Rachel (nee Zahn) Cerulla. Beloved brother to his sisters, Michelle Cost and Linda Gross, and proceed in death by his brother, Edward Cerulla Jr. Loving father to his son, Edward Cerulla. Cherished uncle to his nieces and nephew Anthony Lancieri (Angelique), Melissa Kellett (Dave), Alexis Hughes (Dylan), and the late Rachelle Hoover. He will also be missed by his many great nieces, great nephews, cousins, and friends.
Rich was a compassionate, hardworking man with a spirited and generous nature. He loved deeply, gave generously, and had a heart full of kindness. His presence brought comfort and warmth to those around him. Rich deeply valued family and cherished spending time with those he loved, especially his son. The joy and pride he felt as a father was evident to everyone who knew him.
Throughout his working life Rich was known to be dedicated and dependable. He believed in doing his part and being someone others could count on. He thoroughly enjoyed his time working for Raymour & Flanigan, American Appliance, and Mattress Firm. One of his favorite pastimes was shooting pool, even traveling to Las Vegas to participate in competitions. Though life presented him with many trials and tribulations, he never allowed them to defeat him. He faced each hardship with strength and determination, always finding the courage to carry on.
