Richard Powers

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard P. Powers, who left us peacefully on Thursday February 12, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on October 6, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA, Richard was a proud resident of Croydon, PA, where he lived a life filled with adventure, love, and community service. 

Richard was a devoted truck driver and worked for various other companies. He had a true passion for the open road, which allowed him to travel not only across the country but also internationally with his late wife. Richard cherished their travels, but he found just as much joy in the simple pleasures of summer days spent at the Jersey Shore. 

He was a dedicated parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church and embodied the spirit of service, generously giving his time as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels at the St. Francis Orphanage where he grew up. Richard had a soft spot for the children he served there, and he formed lasting bonds with his "Homies" from the orphanage. 

Richard was preceded in death by his wife, Marianne “Sis” E. (Grafenstine). He leaves behind his three beloved sons, Rick Powers (Jen), Bill Powers (Pam), and Tim Powers (Fiancé Nicole). He is also survived by his grandchildren, Brian, Vincent, Jenna, Josh, Evan, and Emma, along with one great-grandchild, Amelia and many other loving family members and friends. Richard’s legacy of love and kindness will be felt by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Richard’s visitation at St. Thomas Aquinas Church on Saturday, March 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM followed by her memorial mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. www.tomlinsonfh.com
