It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard E. Tindell, Sr., who left us peacefully on Saturday November 8, 2025, at the age of 86. Born on June 25, 1939, in Philadelphia, PA, Richard spent his life dedicated to his family and community, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and commitment.
Richard proudly served as a mail carrier for the USPS for 25 years, where he built lasting friendships and touched many lives along his route. He was also deeply involved in youth athletics, coaching for the Bensalem Redwings Little League from 1970 to 1974 and serving as the athletic director, nurturing young talents and instilling the values of teamwork and sportsmanship.
A devoted member of the Memorial Church of St. Luke-Episcopal, Richard found strength and community in his faith. He had an indomitable spirit and a warm smile that could light up any room. A passionate Philadelphia Eagles fan, he cheered on his team through every season, sharing many a game day with beloved family and friends.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Carol Anne (Hevener). He will be lovingly remembered by his daughters Pamela Esposito (Michael) and Carol Kakareka (Matthew), his son Edward Tindell (Adele), and his siblings James Tindell (Gloria), Mary Ellen Powell, and Nancy Sullivan (Frank). He was a proud Pop to Kim, Lisa, Michael, Stacy, Matt, Rich, Craig, Carolyn, Brian, and Harrison; And a cherished great-grandfather to Allie, Maddie, Audrey, Emily, Dakota, Franky, Gracie, Riley, Michael, Max, and Sora. His family was everything to him, and he leaves behind countless memories filled with laughter and love. Richard was also preceded in death by his son, Richard E. Tindell, Jr; His mother, Francis Pelly and his sisters, Barbara, Betty and Carol.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday November 13, 2025 from 9 to 10 AM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his service at 10:30 at the Memorial Church of St. Luke-Episcopal, 1946 Welsh Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115.
