I have some sad news to report. My Dad passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, July 25. He would have turned 85 on August 3. And trust me… he reminded me often the big day was coming. In my heart, I think the Phillies vs. Braves 3-15 loss on Saturday night was literally heart-breaking for him. I also want to add… I think he may be pulling some strings in heaven since they have won almost every game since Sunday. Go Phils! We were recently blessed to have a fun gathering at his home in June with his two (younger… they would want me to make this clear!) brothers, Bob & Norm, his namesake, nephew Richard and their wives. He was thrilled for the visit and the memories we were able to share together. Beyond Paul, Carle and Jamison who worked tirelessly to help me keep my Dad healthy, happy and at home, I can tell you we had a team of friends and caregivers who would drop almost anything to help. He was never one to complain so when he called and was in need, we knew he was not bluffing. Bless you Donna, Sharon, the VNA nurses and aides, Barbara and the Presbyterian Church members, Millstone Pharmacy, the Allen House residents, Meals on Wheels and the many social workers and doctors who helped me through the years. There are too many people to name individually! And to friends and family who were not part of his day to day care – it brightened his day when he got a call, a card or you sent a photo for his digital frame. He was sure to keep me updated on your news and I was grateful for the conversation topics. THANK YOU! It has been heartwarming these past few days to hear from so many of you and to know how much you loved my Dad and what a kind man he was. We feel the same way! Regarding celebrations of his life and his love for the Phillies… — In Millstone, NJ… I will have a light luncheon/gathering celebration for local friends, family and caregivers at his residence on Friday, August 6 from 11:30am-1:30pm — address: 477 Stagecoach Road, Apt. 10, Millstone Township, NJ 08510. — In the Collegeville, PA area… We will have a casual Phillies inspired luncheon picnic/gathering “up the Perk” on August 7, 2021 at 11:00 am to spread his ashes and enjoy his favorite childhood place. This is exactly what he wanted. Wear your Phillies gear and bathing suits, bring a chair and enjoy a beautiful afternoon on the Perkiomen Creek. Everyone is welcome. The more the merrier! Many thanks to Andrea and Patrick for hosting. Address: 14 Indianhead Road, Collegeville, PA 19426. We know these are difficult times to travel and gather, if you are unable to attend a celebration… No worries! He was blessed to have so many of you in his life. Watch a Phillies game in his memory (hopefully they win!) and cheer louder then ever because the Phillies just lost one of their biggest fans! Please feel free to share this e-mail with family and friends for I am sure I didn’t have everyone’s email address. Go Phillies. Win one for my Dad. With love and gratitude, Kathy, Paul, Carle & Jamison Gould
