Robert N. Bast

Robert Norton Bast passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, Florida at the age of 91. Born on August 28, 1932, in Philadelphia to the late Lillian (Stoufer) and Norton Ackerman Bast, and was formerly of Morrisville and Philadelphia, PA.

Robert was a proud member of the United States Army, where he served honorably during the Korean War, and was decorated with the Bronze Star and Purple Heart.

After his military service, Robert embarked on a successful career in sales, working as a Operations Manager for Advanced Disposal. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and ability to connect with clients.

When he was not working, Robert found solace in his favorite pastimes. As a devoted fan of Philadelphia sports, especially the Eagles, he found joy in cheering on his beloved teams, sharing the victories and defeats with his fellow fans. He was an avid fisherman and had a passion for horse racing.

Robert was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Florence M. (McDermitt) Bast. He will be deeply missed by his daughter Karen M. Gallagher (Thomas); his daughter-in-law, Kathleen Bast (The late Robert); His adoring grandchildren: Eric Maszlanka (Danielle), Rob Bast, Matthew Gallagher, and Christie Gale and 5 great grandchildren: Zachary, Alexandria, Anthony, Nadia and Robbie and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his children, Robert A. Bast and Eileen Bast.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday from 6 to 7 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by his service at 7 PM. Robert’s interment will take place on Friday, February 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM at the Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA 18940.
