Robert J. Birnbaum

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Robert J. Birnbaum, lovingly known as Rob, on September 3, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on December 28, 1967, in Meadowbrook, PA, Rob spent his life dedicated to his family, friends, and the community and was a resident of Bensalem since 2012.Rob dedicated 34 years of his life to PECO, working his way up to the role of Upgrade Foreman for the Trouble department. He was respected and admired by his colleagues, many of whom knew him affectionately as Bernie.

Rob was also deeply committed to his community, serving as a volunteer firefighter with the Cornwells Fire Company Station #16 for 14 years. His willingness to help others exemplified the spirit of service that defined him.

Outside of work, Rob was a master of many hobbies. He found joy in woodworking, barbecuing, and especially loved using his smoker to create delicious meals for family and friends. He had a big heart and enjoyed entertaining those he cared about. An avid sports fan, Rob’s heart belonged to the Philadelphia Eagles and Phillies, and he never missed an opportunity to cheer on his teams.

Rob will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 34 years, Linda (Williams) Birnbaum. He will also be deeply missed by his daughters, Traci and Kristi Birnbaum, and was a proud Pop-Pop to his granddaughters, Madison and Allison. He will be deeply missed by all his family, including his parents, Terry and Josephine (Liebrecht) Birnbaum, his brother Patrick Birnbaum (Donna), his sister Kay McMenemy, and many other loving family members and friends. Rob was preceded in death by his brother, Paul R. Birnbaum, MD.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing Thursday September 10, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, and again Friday September 11, 2026, from 10 to 11 AM, followed by his service at 11 AM. Interment Resurrection Cemetery.
