Robert P. Craig

November 19, 1936 — July 28, 2025

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert P. Craig, a cherished member of our family and community, who left us on July 28, 2025, at the age of 88. Born on November 19, 1936, in Philadelphia, PA, to the late Willam M. and Margaret May (nee Pleibel), Robert was a proud Veteran of the United States Army, and the Director of Parks and Recreation at Fairmount Park, where he devoted his life's work to enriching the community and the natural beauty that surrounded it.

Robert is remembered not only for his professional accomplishments but also for his love of the outdoors. He found great joy in hunting, fishing, and boating, activities that brought him peace and connected him deeply to nature. He had a remarkable ability to share his passions with those around him, and his adventurous spirit inspired many to appreciate and embrace the beauty of the world.

He is survived by his beloved brother, William Craig, and a close-knit family that includes his sons, Bruce Schussler (Rasamee) and Drew Schussler, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Robert's family will forever cherish the memories of the laughter, guidance, and love he shared with them. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne, and his sister, Mary Querner (the late Joseph).

He will have a special place in our hearts and will be fondly remembered for his unwavering spirit and the joy he brought to those around him. His presence will be missed but his spirit will live on in the stories we tell and the memories we cherish. May he rest in peace.
