It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Robert J. "Coach" Wargo, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and educator, who left this world peacefully on March 11, 2026. Born on April 9, 1952, in Mount Carmel, Pennsylvania, to the late Pater and Irene (nee Masinick), Coach dedicated his life to inspiring and nurturing the minds of young learners. He spent many fruitful years teaching in the Bensalem School District, where he touched the lives of countless students.
Coach earned his two Master's Degree after attending Indiana University of Pennsylvania (Lambda Chi Alpha, 1970), Trenton State College, and Gwynedd Mercy University, showcasing his commitment to education. His legacy extends beyond the classroom; he was the proud founder of the Bucks County Challenger Flag Football and Cheerleading program, reflecting his passion for inclusivity and community engagement. His coaching roles at Bensalem and Neshaminy Schools brought him immense joy and allowed him to extend his influence to young athletes.
An avid sports fan, Coach passionately supported all Philadelphia sports teams, often seen cheering enthusiastically for his favorite players. He also served as security for the Philadelphia Phillies, blending his love for sports with service.
Coach's zest for life led him to travel to many beautiful destinations, especially enjoying the sun and surf at Virginia Beach and Ocean City, Maryland. He was deeply cherished by his family and friends, leaving behind his loving spouse, Joan Wargo; his daughter, Laura Koonce (Nathan Koonce), his sons, Keith Knapp and Michael Knapp; and his daughter, Natalie Wargo. He delighted in being a grandparent to his grandson, Ayden, who brought him endless joy. He was preceded in death by his sister, Donna Davidson.
Coach's love, laughter, and dedication to family and education will be profoundly missed, but his legacy will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. The family appreciates all the love and support during this difficult time.
Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Bucks County Challenger Flag Football and Cheerleading by mail at, 2 Greenridge Circle, Newtown, Pa 18940, or online at https://www.buckscountychallenger.com/. www.tomlinsonfh.com
